As far as home design style goes, mine is pretty eclectic.
My couch is a mid-century masterpiece that came out of Ontario in the 1940s and is in desperate need of reupholstering. The mismatched frames that hang on the wall behind it were all procured through six years of working in retail photography, and my TV stand is a $49.99 IKEA special.
There’s no rhyme or reason to why I do what I do. Really, my two decorating rules are:
I don’t know what I like until I like it, and I always go with my gut.
I’ve had a gigantic design boner for ModCloth’s home decor since the first time I stumbled across a jewelry bowl on Pinterest.
Seriously – they do it so right.
Look at those beauties!! Also I guess I have a thing for jewelry storage – is that just me or?….
When I’m not buying tiny bowls to keep my ring collection in, I’m touching every single rug I can get my likely sticky hands on. I’ve been waiting for the right living room rug to strike me since I rage quit my previous one.
I’m thinking something like these from Overstock.com would do the trick:
I clearly have a rug type, as well. Give me a little Moroccan knit and I’m all yours!
If you’re planning to get your online shop on, don’t forget to let my girl Groupon save you some money. Groupon isn’t just for snagging spa discounts and cheap hotels anymore!
